Expungement in Arizona – What is it and How Does it Work?
Following the passing of Proposition 207 in 2020, Arizona has introduced Expungement into its process for the handling of marijuana convictions. Unlike a Set-Aside, Expungement has a very limited scope of application.
On the heels of the legalization of marijuana, Expungement is now available to those who have been convicted to a series of possession of marijuana related charges: personal possession, possession of marijuana concentrates, possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana) and the possession of marijuana plants.
Unlike getting the conviction Set-Aside, Expungement will purge these records from the court and law enforcement agencies.
