A petition for early termination of probation is often requested by our clients after they have completed the requirements of their probation terms early. For example, when a client who has been convicted of a Driving Under the Influence Charge, they will often be required to complete the payment of a fine, alcohol screening and counseling and sometimes the placement of a certified ignition interlock device on the vehicle. If those items are completed often clients will request an early termination of probation so they are not at risk of (if applicable) violating probation, having to check in with a probation officer, or any additional terms of probation such as no consumption of alcohol.
