Stephen A. Thompson was formerly the partner in charge of the estate planning practice at a large full-service law firm, but now limits his practice to a smaller number of estate planning clients and families. He has been licensed to practice law in Arizona since 1995. His areas of practice include estate planning and transactional commercial real estate matters.
He is a Flagstaff native and attended the University of Arizona, graduating with a BS in Finance. He began his legal education at California Western School of Law in San Diego, earning his J.D. He then attended an extra year of law school to obtain his master of laws degree (LL.M.) in taxation from University of San Diego School of Law.
He is a frequent speaker on estate planning matters and has lectured on small business formation and representation. He is a member of the Coconino County Bar Association, the State Bar of Arizona and the American Bar Association.
He serves on the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is Chairman of the Chamber's Business Advocacy Committee. He is a member of the Catholic Community Foundation (Diocese of Phoenix), Professional Advisory Board; the NAU Catholic Newman Center, Finance Council (Chair); Flagstaff Business Leaders, Business Group; and Northern Arizona Healthcare Certificate Holder. He was formerly heavily involved with youth sports on the Board of West Flagstaff Little League and has coached youth basketball and baseball all-star
and travel teams.
He is a strong advocate of advance planning and knows that, with proper planning, family members and loved ones will have one less thing to worry about at a time of great grief and need.
