NAU STUDENTS FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES

Have you or a friend recently been arrested or cited with criminal charges? Do you need help figuring out what to do next?

Many young defendants have the attitude of just trying to get it over with as soon as possible to put it behind them. This often means pleading guilty or being found guilty to charges without understanding the impacts it would have on their personal life and professional future. Don’t think what you’ve been charged with isn’t a big deal. Don’t just “get it over with.” Take the time to learn and discover all of your options. Avoid convictions at all costs. Even if you are guilty of the alleged crime(s), there are often times ways to prevent these charges from becoming convictions.

You DO NOT want a criminal conviction on your record. A criminal conviction can affect your ability to obtain future employment. Most employers will run a criminal history check on prospective employees. Any criminal conviction will have a negative effect.

Every criminal case is different. The results one of your friends had for the same charges may not be the same in your case. Seek the opinion of an attorney that has handled thousands of cases in the Flagstaff area including hundreds of NAU students.

Most Common Crimes that NAU Students are Charged with:

  • Minor Consumption
  • Disorderly Conduct-Noise
  • Shoplifting/ Theft – this includes parking permits
  • DUI (Driving Under the Influence)
    • Extreme DUI
    • Super DUI
    • DUI of Drugs
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Dangerous Drugs
  • Trespassing

NAU Cops are REAL Cops! If you were cited or arrested by an NAU cop, your case will be prosecuted from the Flagstaff Justice Court located on North San Francisco Street, right across the street from my office. Figuring out what you want to do with your life and going to school are hard enough, pleading guilty to any criminal charge will only make things more difficult.

A consultation is free and confidential. It’s definitely worth your time to come in and discuss the details of your case. You will learn how much you will owe the court if convicted of the charge you were cited for. You can also learn what other conditions will need to be met until your case over. The legal system can be confusing, especially if this is your first offense. Call 928-213-5916 to meet with Stephen Glazer and get your questions answered.
